"They told me maybe she's crazy a little like you
Everyone said you were nothing but trouble and
All that I know is that I've never been here before
And no, I'll never leave, if it's alright with you
Dreaming of oceans while jumping in puddles and
All of my life I pretend you where there by the door
I don't need to pretend any more."
I was constantly listening to this song called "Pretend" as inspiration for me to draw this piece. Fun fact, Scott Porter who voices Luke sings this, and although it will never happen, I like to imagine Luke singing this beautiful song to Clementine when ever she is feeling down. 'Tis a sweet thing to imagine, and I think it really suites their relationship perfectly.
And Oh my word you guys, this 2nd Season of Telltale's "The Walking Dead," OH MY FRICKIN' WORD!
If you have not already started watching walk-throughs or played the game, DO IT NOW! It's an amazing story plot with such great characters. And my baby girl Clementine, I swear I feel like such a proud mother. She's become so strong, brave, and pretty sassy. She ain't taking nobody's crap anymore, I love it! x'D ...But boy do I really miss Lee. The series may not be the same and it kinda hurts to watch Clementine go on without him, but I believe he would have been so proud of how far she has come.
Then we have Luke, I've really grown to like him a lot as a character. Despite dropping Clem like a sack of potatoes and when he thought she was bitten by a walker, he still automatically rushes over to her side when she fainted, defended her from the group, fed her, and was the only person in the cabin group to take interest in her life, all in one episode. And then in episode 2, Luke and Alvin go out looking for her, even though Rebecca begged him not to. Point is, I just absolutely love his caring and protective nature towards this little girl he had just met. It makes me wonder, besides losing his parents, if Luke had a sibling, relative, or someone he really cared for, but maybe was not able to protect in the end. Maybe in his eyes, he sees her as that someone he could make up for to protect and care for.
Honestly, I don't see Luke as Clementine's "new guardian" at the moment. Maybe in time yes, but not right now. In fact, Lee has really taught her well to look out for herself. The way I see it, they are both looking out for each other. But heck, even she needs someone to be there for her, no matter how strong a little girl she is. And the kind of person Luke is and everything he's already done for Clem, it's definitely more than good enough for me, as long as she is never alone. I am really looking forward to watching their friendship grow throughout the rest of the series, and I hope they both survive for a very long time. I love them both so much.
