2nd part ~> [link]

I feel like I haven't updated you guys in for ever! I'm real sorry about that. I have been so busy lately it's not even funny! Today was the last day of finals thankfully. So more time to draw again! :boogie:

Anyway, for my drawing class, we were working with black and white charcoal (really messy) And we had to sketch one of our eyes and then a side profile of our face on a big poster. I would show you the second one with my face, but it's being entered in a contest and if I win, I will get a profect and earn $200! :love:

I had fun with the charcoal and doing the assignments...I'm gonna miss taking drawing class. I have learned so much. Aw well, at least I'll have the same amazing art teacher when I take advanced pottery next week. So excited! :heart:

Well, I hope you like my eye ball! :XD:

So after reading your summary, I see you used charcoal. What a pain in the backside of a material to use!

You've clearly started to learn the art of detailing and you've made a really big effort here.

However a few comments;
Generally the black bit of the eye is actually more oval shaped than rounded, we don't see this when drawing from a mirror image of ourselves as our eyes (when there is too much light/not enough lights, concentration, etc) tend to mess up our way of seeing, so you'll see it as rounded rather than oval.

The colour of your eye (mine are blue, so for the sack of the Critique), the blue tends to normally (and obviously) be the dominant of colour, the zig zag lines you've drawn is a great start to the "shading blues", I'd suggest next time is to draw overlapping kite shapes and wiggling lines that do not conjoin. If you take a picture of somebody else eyes, what I've said, those shapes will now appear! (Ta-Da!)

The white of the eye (the eye ball) normally has some squiggling red lines in the corner. So get that charcoal, sharpen it to it's pointiest and sharpest and get squiggling!

Under the eye is normally wrinkles or "skin spots", so same again, get a sharp charcoal and lightly draw those lines and spots!

I hope this is helpful and I cannot wait to see more of your work! Keep it up!
